Lozere Mount
Mont Lozere
It is a granite massif oriented west / south-east of the south Massif Central. This vast plateau with rounded curves culminates at 1702 m at the Pic de Finiels. Located in the heart of the Cévennes National Park, it has a remarkable biodiversity which also justifies its classification as a Biosphere Reserve. Its mountain climate is reflected in the presence of specific environments: lawns, moors and peat bogs. Depending on the level and orientation, birch, beech, pine or rowan trees can be found. The Mont Lozère is part of the "Causses and Cévennes" area which was listed in 2011 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the title of "cultural landscape of Mediterranean agro-pastoralism".
On the Mt Lozère, you can practice hiking, mountain biking, trail and winter, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or cross-country skiing.
