High Languedoc

High Languedoc

It constitutes one of the southern extremities of the Massif Central at the confines of oceanic and Mediterranean influences. Straddling 2 departments: the Tarn and the Hérault, the Haut Languedoc has a medium mountain profile with a geology that is quite contrasted with limestone, schist or gneiss (metamorphic rock) zones. The result is a veritable mosaic of landscapes gathered within a natural area with a rich heritage: the Haut Languedoc Regional Natural Park. Several geographical areas: Caroux - Espinouse, the plateau of the Lakes, the Monts de Lacaune, the Monts d'Orb or the Montagne Noire.

For all these reasons, the Haut Languedoc is a favourite destination for outdoor and discovery sports activities. Here, everything is possible: hiking, mountain biking, climbing, canyoning, caving, canoeing, fly fishing ... without forgetting nature & heritage outings with passionate and exciting guides !
